The Age Matters! seminar on 22–23 May 2025 at Tampere University, Finland, brought together scholars from social sciences, humanities, and cultural studies to explore contemporary questions related to age and ageing.
This interdisciplinary event featured a keynote lecture by Professor Merril Silverstein, a leading expert in ageing studies.
The RECETAS team in Finland contributed to the programme with an oral presentation by Laura Rautiainen, titled “Longing for meaningful conversations – exploring the social needs of lonely older adults in assisted living facilities.”
The seminar welcomes contributions from researchers at all career stages, including work-in-progress presentations.
