Government Council Award for Seniors and Population Ageing 2025
At the Active Ageing Forum 2025, Associate Professor Iva Holmerová, MD, Ph.D., was awarded the Government Council Award for Seniors and Population Ageing in the category Professional Personality 2025.
This prestigious award recognizes her long-term and outstanding contribution to promoting an active, responsible, and human-centred approach to ageing, both in health and social policy.
In her acceptance speech, Iva Holmerová emphasized that
“Part of active ageing is living in the present while looking toward the future,”
and she highlighted the importance of cross-ministerial cooperation, a truly human approach to deinstitutionalization, and the development of health and social services that allow people to stay where they want, for as long as possible, most often at home.
